Howard carried his team single-handidly over the final two months to the verge of the playoffs, while the Cardinals withered like a dead flower to almost missing the playoffs. If the Cards had continued to play their mediocre baseball instead of tanking the last two weeks, Pujols might have deserved it.
"Howard's team played better than Pujols' team" is not a good reason. Next!
